Message From the Campus Chief
It is a matter of profound honour to introduce Saraswati Multiple Campus to all prospective students, guardians, academic colleagues, and well-wishers who have supported this institution throughout its long and meaningful journey. As the newly appointed Campus Chief, I assume this responsibility with humility and a deep awareness of the legacy I inherit. Saraswati Multiple Campus stands today as one of the distinguished constituent campuses of Tribhuvan University, with its history closely interwoven with the evolution of higher education in Nepal since 2016 BS. Over several decades, the campus has shaped countless individuals who have contributed significantly to national development, intellectual life, public service, and diverse professional fields across the country.
The origins of Saraswati Multiple Campus can be traced to a formative period in Nepal’s educational expansion, when the nation was prioritizing accessible higher learning for its citizens. With the establishment of Tribhuvan University as the central academic authority, the need for institutions capable of delivering quality education in the heart of Kathmandu became increasingly evident. Saraswati Multiple Campus emerged in response to this aspiration. From its inception, the campus embraced a commitment to public education grounded in intellectual integrity and the belief that academic opportunities should reach students from diverse economic, regional, and cultural backgrounds. These principles continue to guide the institution as it adapts to evolving academic expectations while remaining anchored in its foundational ideals.
Over time, the campus expanded its academic offerings to respond to Nepal’s changing social, cultural, and professional landscape. What began primarily as a hub for Management education evolved in alignment with the nation’s expanding economic activities and growing demand for skilled professionals capable of navigating business environments, financial systems, and organizational structures. Through graduate and postgraduate programs in business and management, students acquire the practical knowledge and analytical frameworks required to participate confidently in national and global economic sectors, supported by experienced faculty who bring both academic insight and real-world expertise.
The Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences remains central to the identity of the campus, offering a rich intellectual environment for the study of literature, languages, sociology, rural development, economics, journalism, political science, psychology, public administration, and related fields. These disciplines cultivate analytical thinking, cultural understanding, and the ability to interpret the complexities of society. At the master’s level, the programs foster research competence and theoretical depth, enabling students to engage with advanced scholarship and articulate their academic perspectives with clarity and confidence.
In the coming years, the campus is also working toward introducing Law programs, recognizing the growing national demand for legal education grounded in social justice, constitutional values, and professional ethics. With the Law faculty in the pipeline, Saraswati Multiple Campus aims to strengthen interdisciplinary engagement and expand opportunities for students aspiring to contribute to Nepal’s legal and civic institutions.
The academic culture of Saraswati Multiple Campus is strengthened by its commitment to balanced, rigorous, and student-centered pedagogy. Teaching here is not limited to the transmission of prescribed content; rather, it unfolds as an interactive process in which knowledge is examined, challenged, and contextualized. Lectures are complemented by seminars, discussions, presentations, workshops, and research-driven activities that nurture independent thinking and articulate expression. At the master’s level, the emphasis on thesis writing and independent research further cultivates intellectual discipline and methodological clarity, preparing students not merely for examinations but for lifelong engagement with learning.
Research culture within the campus has grown notably in recent years. Departments encourage students to pursue original inquiries, conduct field-based studies, and participate in academic events that broaden intellectual horizons. Faculty-led seminars, guest lectures, and collaborative projects have helped foster an environment where inquiry is valued and theoretical discourse thrives. As Campus Chief, I recognize that strengthening research is essential to realizing the institution’s full potential. I am committed to expanding research resources, promoting scholarly writing, and encouraging faculty members to undertake academic initiatives that enrich teaching and contribute meaningfully to national academic development.
The physical and social environment of the campus plays a vital role in shaping student life. Located in Thamel—an active intersection of cultural, social, and intellectual life—Saraswati Multiple Campus offers an atmosphere that is both vibrant and conducive to scholarship. Within the campus, students encounter a community built on diversity, mutual respect, and shared academic aspirations. Learners from across the country come together to form a collective identity rooted in common goals. Beyond the classroom, the campus supports activities that nurture leadership, creativity, social responsibility, and personal growth. Our alumni, now serving in fields such as education, civil service, journalism, literature, development, business, and international organizations, stand as living testimony to the enduring influence and integrity of this institution.
Assuming the leadership of this institution at such a meaningful moment inspires both responsibility and optimism. My vision for Saraswati Multiple Campus is grounded in academic excellence, institutional integrity, and an unwavering commitment to student welfare. I intend to prioritize quality in teaching and learning, ensuring that our programs are delivered with consistency, intellectual rigor, and future-oriented pedagogy. Strengthening faculty development remains crucial, for the vitality of any academic institution depends on the enthusiasm, expertise, and scholarly engagement of its teachers. I aim to foster a climate in which faculty members feel encouraged to innovate, research, publish, and participate fully in academic discourse.
The future of higher education requires responsiveness to technological advancement, new pedagogical approaches, and expanding disciplinary frontiers. My leadership will emphasize the integration of digital tools, the enhancement of library and research facilities, and the modernization of classrooms and academic resources. These are not simply infrastructural improvements; they reflect a broader commitment to aligning the campus with global academic standards while upholding the cultural and intellectual values that define Nepal’s educational tradition.
At the heart of this vision lies the student community. Students are the reason this institution exists, and their intellectual and personal development remains the guiding principle behind every decision. I am committed to expanding student support services, strengthening academic advising, and creating opportunities for engagement beyond the classroom. Students should feel both challenged and supported—prepared not only to complete their studies but to enter the world with confidence, ambition, and a deep sense of civic and ethical responsibility.
To parents and guardians, I assure you that Saraswati Multiple Campus remains dedicated to the education and well-being of the students you entrust to us. Your trust constitutes a vital foundation of our institutional strength, and we are committed to honouring that trust through quality education, ethical governance, and transparent institutional practices. To our faculty and administrative staff, I express sincere appreciation for the work that sustains this campus each day. I look forward to close collaboration with all members of the academic community as we strive to achieve shared goals and uphold the dignity and aspirations of this institution.
The future of Saraswati Multiple Campus is shaped by both its remarkable legacy and its readiness to evolve. The institution stands at a moment of opportunity. With collective commitment, thoughtful planning, and a shared dedication to academic enrichment, Saraswati Multiple Campus can reach new heights and emerge as an even stronger force within Nepal’s academic landscape. As Campus Chief, I pledge to lead with integrity, purpose, and an unwavering belief in the transformative power of education.
